Mr. Francisco Delfin Jr. is President and Board Director of Maibarara Geothermal Inc. (MGI) and Vice President of MGI’s parent company PetroEnergy Resources Corp. His over 30 years of professional experience covers private industry, government service, academia, and non-profit work, spanning the intersection of geological sciences, energy and natural resources development, and public policy.
He has decades of experience in geothermal exploration and development with PNOC-EDC, and served as Assistant Secretary and Undersecretary (Vice Minister) of the Philippines’ Department of Energy (DOE) in 2007. He also served as President of the Geological Society of the Philippines (2009) and as Contributing Editor and Associate Editor of the Journal of the Geological Society of the Philippines. Mr. Delfin was on the faculty of the University of the Philippines – National College of Public Administration and Governance from 2005-2009, where he taught undergraduate and graduate courses in public policy and undertook research on natural disasters.
Mr. Delfin graduated with a B.S. Geology degree from the University of the Philippines and holds an M.S. Geology degree from the University of South Florida and a Ph.D. in Public Administration from the University of Southern California.
