Melissa graduated with a BSc. in Physics from the University of the West Indies in 2012. She was a UNU Fellow at UNU-GTP in 2014, and has been working on her MSc studies in Geophysics at UI since late 2016, on a UNU-GTP Fellowship.
After expressing an interest in geothermal development in her home country – St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Melissa was in 2014 employed by the Government in the Energy Unit within the Ministry of National Security, Air and Sea Port Development. Here she is responsible for generating energy efficiency improvements in public, private and commercial buildings by a.o.t. promotion of renewable energy sources.
